D-tex

mobile app for Android and iOS devices

USER MANUAL

D-tex provides current and expected availability information for Davaris textiles S.A. fabrics on a real-time basis by posting queries to a central server and then displaying the results. D-tex will not function if WiFi and cellular/mobile data are both set to off or for some other reason connection to the server is not possible.

Access

D-tex is not addressed to the general public. Authorized users worldwide need to be provided with special credentials and other setup information to be able to access availability information. These are provided privately and should not be disclosed to third parties.

Setting and testing the connection

To complete this step make sure that you have activated either WiFi or cellular/mobile data first.

To test the connection with the online server you need to select the “settings” page from the left-hand menu, and tap the “edit” button next to the “Connection” section. You may be taken automatically to the “settings” page when the app is first started. Enter the URL you have been provided with, and then tap the “CHECK” button. A “Server URL check” response message will be generated describing your connection type. A “Server connection: OK” and “Server response: OK” will indicate that the connection is successful. If this is your initial set-up, and the connection is established, tap “SAVE” to save the connection URL.

Entering user name and password

To complete this step make sure that you have activated either WiFi or cellular/mobile data and have successfully tested and saved the connection with the online server.

Although an established connection is the prerequisite to signing-in, it will not give you access to the server unless you are in possession of proper credentials (user name and password). In order to test and set-up your device to access the online system you need to select the “settings” page from the left-hand menu, and tap the “edit” button next to the “Credentials” section. Proceed to enter the user name and password you have been provided with and then tap "CHECK”. D-tex will respond with a “Credentials check” message. You will only be provided access to the system if the last line reads “Permissions: OK”. If you are successful, then tap “SAVE” so that your device can be granted access to the system automatically.

Article and color code

The first 10 code characters correspond to the fabric quality whereas the following three represent color code. For example 102.STATUS0.750 is the code of “navy” color (750) for quality 102.STATUS0.

Usage

The tab markers at the bottom of the screen allow you to proceed with queries leading to a detailed availability report per fabric color code. The first tab titled “search” is code-based. The user can either select from the list or type a specific code. If “live search” is set to ON in the “settings” page then any typed part of the code will be matched against all codes yielding a filtered picklist (e.g. typing “atus” may display 102.STATUS0 and 102.STATUS9 ). In “live search” mode, the list will only be shown only when at least three characters have been typed. If “live search” is OFF, you will need to press the 'search' button in order tfor the filtered list to appear and/or change when you change the search field by typing more characters. Selecting an article code will list all color codes, each with a thumbnail, color description, total availability, present and expected availability quantity per day. This is the “arrivals by color” view. Tapping the 'ellipsis' button at the top right of the screen, then selecting “Arrivals by date” will display the “arrivals by date” view which includes expected daily totals as well as detailed quantities per color code.

In the filtered list, a Greyed-out item indicates that this item is NOT available in the current season. Taping on a greyed-out item will allow you to temporarily select one of the seasons in which it is available and view the respective information.

The second tab titled “categories” allows you to browse through the various categories and navigate within each. Select any article code within a category and then proceed as you would on the “search” page.

Note: quantities expected from the dyeing mill are represented in red.

Seasons

Availability is always reported per active season. The active season (e.g. 19 Winter) is displayed on the top of the initial screen in the "search" and "categories" tabs. Tapping the name of the season will generate a pick-list to choose alternative seasons. Usually three to four are provided.

Thumbnails and images

Plain dyed fabrics categories are listed with their corresponding color displayed on the left-hand side and no further image is provided. On other categories (e.g. laces, prints, multi-colored fabrics etc.) tapping the thumbnail will generate a more detailed fabric image. Tapping again will allow pinch-zooming for even more detail.

D-tex may be used to gather information from large data sets including detailed fabric photos. In order to avoid excessive data usage, it will download thumbnails (the small photos) and fabric photos automatically only if WiFi is available. Even then, only the first 10 thumbnails will be downloaded and displayed automatically. Otherwise the user will need to tap on the item’s thumbnail placeholder. D-tex will then display a short data usage warning message and ask confirmation for the image to be displayed.

Fetching data

Depending on connection speed some queries may be slow responding. In particular, long lists of fancy collections' articles may need some time to be fully completed.
